Hi folks. I updated the Press section and some upcoming shows. I am smiling in my boots to be opening for the lurvely Pink Mountaintops at the Horseshoe. Just chuffed. Equally stoked to be playing at the CBC Radio 3 Searchlight Celebration for Phog Lounge's Best Live Music Venue with Holy FuckArkells and a billion others in Windsor on July 11th. That will be a crazy show for the records. Apparently our nice friend Ron Marston has compiled a bunch of pictues he's taken and made them into Phog Lounge postcards that you can purchase. The first set are women from Phog, and yours truly is a featured face. If anybody in Windsor sees them selling out before July 11th, please get me a pack so I can have one for the memory box!!
I haven't even mentioned NXNE, yet. Have you seen who we're playing with? Old friends Caledonia (Halifax) and Olenka & the Autumn Lovers (London). PLUS Ghost Bees, Emma-Lee and a band called Kyra & Tully. I don't know if that was planned, or if the Universe just aligned to create an unbelievable line-up, but there you have it. It's pretty ridiculous.
First things first. My last (scheduled) Residency show at Tranzac is this coming Wednesday, June 10th with the terrific Matthew de Zoete (from Hamilton). 7:30pm-9:30pm. Come 'n holler for what has been a beautiful time at one of my fave places to play.
ps me n Ben made stovetop popcorn the old-fashioned way last night. It was amazing - shoot me an email if you want instructions, or just go to my facebook page where we documented it. (Because we're super geeks.)
